Was this a good tractor with the V8 Perkins? What are some major problems with em? One showed on my radar.

they had transmission problems for a lot of owners but then again some guys got along with them just fine

8 spd trans was ok, 24 had some issues, could be they have been fixed. Some parts are becoming harder to find.

Also have a reputation for other drivetrain issues, most self inflicted. The engine can make more power than the drive was designed for.

I owned 2 2805 tractors ( turbo 640 cu in perkins) they both were old when I got them.Both had powershift with updated s

eals in them. I never had any problems with either. If power shift was updated with new style orings they are good.
