2940 hi-lo

I have a 2940 cab tractor that the hi- lo is not working in. when you shift into hi the trans light comes on. If you have the pto on when you shift into hi it will stop spinning the 3pt will not work or steering till you put it back into low but to get it to act like that you have to hold the shifter in hi cause it will kick it out before it acts up. I put a gage on the tractor when it is in low it hold 160 lbs of pressure when shifted to hi it drops to 140 lbs.

More than likely your tractor has a split/leaking supply tube or cracked sealing ring in hyd hi-lo assembly

I know the manual states to take readings at 1500 rpms, they are looking for 150psi, you say your getting 140psi. before splitting looking for leak have you tried to shim it to increase the pressure or tried to put shop air on system and see if you hear a leak.
