2N barn find

Working on an original 2N (1942). The wiring is original and toasted. Planning on installing a new harness with soldered terminal ends (by me) and new plug wires. Rebuilding the front mount distributor with a spare I have from a '48 8n. Planning on all Standard stuff and a Niehoff coil that came from an estate sale part number FF-177.
Battery cables are embarrassing.
I have been soaking the cylinders with Kroil and a tad of kerosene. This week i'll add some 10W-30 and just cycle it a few times by hand to get the go juice working the rings.
I have a rebuilt TSX-33 to put on it. It has a greasy and stuck TSX-264 (cockshutt?) right now.

If the previous owner used 10-30 oil your good to go. If you dont know what kind of oil had been used in the past I suggest you drop the pan and clean out the sludge before you add 10-30 JMHO. Also you may need to prime the oil pump.Check your manual there is a plug on the l/f of the block where you can prime it.

Im just squirting the oil down the cylinders for now, and working it with kroil. I already changed the oil and it didnt look like melted tootsie rolls so my plan is to drain it after Im done turning it by hand, put in 15w-40, and crank it with the starter without plugs in it.
Might get frisky and add a little MMO

I have some cheapy filters to burn up before I use the good stuff.

Already had the hood off when I remembered I needed photos.
Pulled a new wiring harness and new plug wires. Old braided tip up line worked well. Left a chunk of old wire attached so I didnt have a string back out into the conduit. All the bushings in the conduit were still in place.
As you can see the wiring was a little decrepit. Added a new ballast resistor as the original read about 7 M ohms. Of course the holes didnt match up. (AFTERMARKET). After it was all together and still snowing, had nice 1/4 spark that had a good color and snap. The starter is a POS black aftermarket thing. I am sending the original in for a rebuild and bolting on 2/0 welding cables in place of the junk that's there for the starter and battery.

Hooked up a 1 gallon gas tank from a snowblower and ran a line to the freshly rebuilt TSX 33. The battery cables are 2/0, crimped on both ends with shrink tube. Oil and coolant level was good.
Hit the button and it took off with a tiny bit of choke after about 3 seconds of cranking. Ran great. Added some sea foam to the gas tank and some MMO to the oil and varied the RPM's has a had a victory beer. Watched the oil pressure and at idle it was 20lbs. Max was about 30lb. Pretty sweet unit for being 80 years old.
