2N Tool Box ?

On the 1946 2N ser#247639 was the original tool box mounted on the left fender next to the seat? Thanks Mike
 
Mike.......would you believe the original 2N toolbox bolted to the side of the BATTERY TRAY over the starter motor??? 'course, you could bolt it ennywharr that pleases you including the fender. .......Dell
 
Thanks thats what I thought but with all the changes in the war years I thought I'd ask the Experts.:) Mike

From my 45' 2N. Mounted to Battery tray as mentioned by Dell. Assume it would be in the same spot as yours.

 
Both my Fords have it on the fenders. If you mount it where it should be (by the battery) you will find out real fast why people started to mount them on the fenders. Ok for show,but when using them it sure is nice to be able to get in and out of them and be able to see whats inside
