I posted a few years ago that I bought this mutt.

Shes been running great and Ive added a few new parts here and there.
Im wanting to add a toolbox in the original location and was eyeing the YT box offered.
I do have the sheet metal battery tray.
Is the YT box a heavy gauge and will it hold up to being loaded with tools and not crack at the mounting holes?
What are the dimensions of the box? Looking at them installed its hard to determine as they look small.
Is there room to open the lid if installed in the pen location?
Looking in a parts book shows the lid to be canted a bit but the troops look flat.

I put one on mine that I got from J.8.N's., I'm very happy with it. There is room to open the lid, but a little awkward.

Many sources for these.

I've had the YT version on mine for ten years or so, no
problem. I keep a twelve foot chain and some gloves in it. On
the rear fender is the other YT box that holds my ORC, hitch
pins and a few hand tools.

There are many sellers of the 9N, 2N, and 8N, toolboxes including the NAA and Hundred Series but all are made by Dennis Carpenter as they are the only licensed-by-FORD supplier to do so. They have all the original tooling dies and stamping presses. Everybody buys from DC. ALL are perfect fits. Just be certain you buy the right one -the 9N is different than the 2N and both are different than the 8N. I've had both original and DC repops and there are no differences.

Tim, thanks for that info.
I figured DC was a major supplier for sheet metal parts since Im on his site a lot for my 63 & 64 F100 trucks.

I did notice that in the Jan 46 Ford-Ferguson parts book that the tool box 9n-17004-B is illustrated as a canted lid design.
Has anyone ever seen this one in person?
