3-53 or 3-71 ????

Can someone settle this argument once and for all. Did the super 99GM/ 990GM / Massey 98 have a 3-53 detroit or a 3-71 detroit. Seems like everyone says something different. I thought it was 3-53, but talked to a guy at Aumans sale today, and swears they had 3-71 s. That massey 98 was also advertised as having a 3-71. So which is it?

4-53's were in the 1900&1950 Diesel's.

They all have a 3-71. I'm a little surprised there is a question. Just out of curiosity were does this kind of confusion go on?
