I asked on Implement Alley and was told this is an A-C #3. Does anyone have a picture of one mounted on a tractor? Curious about how it lifts and hooks to tractor. Neighbor got it with some equipment he bought and is wondering if he can make it work on a 8N Ford.

I have attached a picture of my restored No. 3 mower with hydraulic lift attached to my Allis CA and another picture of one mounted to an Allis WC which has the hand lift. You should be able to adapt yours to your 3 point.

I love this mower. My first one was an allis twin wheel and it was a nightmare!!! I bought mine for $35.00 at aq sale adn have owned it for over 20 years.

Thanks for the pictures, your mower looks great. The 8N doesn't have any remote hookups, just a 3pt hitch. It has a pulley near the top on the front and we are wondering if a cable was used to attach to the tractor and when you raise the 3pt, it would raise the mower? The 8N has a drawbar attachment , possibly we could mount the mower there and use the 3pt arms to raise the bar? Chris

super99,
The mower was designed to be mounted or fixed to the tractor with the 2 front mount points so that it does not rotate side to side when the tractor turns. It should only be allowed to rotate up and down at the front mounts. It always stays in line with the tractor so that you can jam on the right brake and make a square corner. The sickle bar would normally only raise with a hand lever or with a hydraulic ram.
Good luck,
Mike
