3 point lift slow

I have a 1956 Ford 860. When it is cold (teens or colder), it takes approximately 20 minutes with the tractor idling before the 3 point lift will start working. Just curious if others have experienced this and what weight hydraulic oil they use. Thanks!

Any good tractor hydraulic fluid will work, from wally world etc. Ford New Holland sells the correct fluid, if you feel inclined
Clean the sump filters if you are changing the oil.

There are neither "sump filters" nor strainers in the hundred series hydraulic system.

bleed your pump until the air bubbles stop coming out.
