Maybe I misspoke. I really meant if I’m cruising along my property and have the blade raised, with a solid hydraulic system, I should be able to raise and cut off the PTO and the blade should stay up. On mine when I have it up and I’m going from one part of my property to another and I have the blade up and disengage the PTO the blade sinks. That’s why I’m asking if it’s ok to just keep the PTO on so I can keep it raised when riding along.
Yes, it's ok, that's the way the machine was designed. But, as I and others were trying to tell you, if you install limiter chains on your tractor, the chains will hold the mower up and you can just flip the lever and turn off the PTO.

A worn/weak system will drop the load fast though. Yes, keep the PTO engaged. As stated, you can't raise and lower the implement without it engaged. Get a PTO Cap too and use it. ORC not needed for a plow or back blade.
