Hey everyone, thanks for all your previous help, Now, I was wondering what should the travel height be for the 3 point? Mine starts lifting when the lever is almost 3/4 the way up, and i cannot get it to stay
it a certain height, And no i do not have it in draft control mode, any ideas? With a scraper blade it only seems to rise about 10 inches. By the way it is a 1971 3000

sounds like a worn cam follower pin and/or the internal linkage is out of adjustment. Follow the procedures in the Service Manual to R&R the lift cover. Replace anything worn and then follow the adjustment procedures.

It sounds like the exact problem I had. Are you sure the lever is all the way back? On mine I put the lever all the way back in raised position but it did as yours. On closer inspection, the lever hit a part of a bracket at the back about 1 inch short of full up. I have to move the lever a slight bit to one side to get it past that backet. (We are talking the last inch of lever travel) It worked fine when I figured out what I had to do to get it all the way back.

There should be no slot showing between lever and back of control. That bracket is only stopped it about 1 short, but that was the problem.

Did yours not start lifting until the handle was 3/4 of the way up as the OP described? If so, the stop bracket could not have been the cause. Are you claiming that moving the the handle past the stop bracket at the top of the quadrant somehow caused it to start lifting the arms earlier?

Mine starts lifting between 1/2 and 3/4. What I am saying, is if you move the lever rearward till it stops, and you are not looking at it, it might be stopping when it
hits the little piece of flat steel that is part of the mechanism. On my tractor, I have to put a slight outward pressure on the lever so it clears that piece of metal.
Since the whole thing is behind the driver, it was easy for me just to pull the lever back, but it wouldn't raise up all the way and wouldn't hold. When I got off the
tractor and used the lever I was able to see it stopped about 1 short of the end of the slot as it was hitting that piece of metal. Now that I know to put outward
pressure on the lever as I move it back, it goes all the way back like it should and the lift works like it should.

Mine starts lifting between 1/2 and 3/4.

If it's in position control mode, then things are either worn or out of adjustment, or both inside. When the system is in position control mode, there should be a direct correlation between the position of the handle and the position of the lift arms, from full down to full up.
