3 pt hitch hydraulics

Hi All,

I am trying to set up my 3 point hitch hydraulics on my Massey 1085. The I&T manual notes I will need tools NFN 1080B, NFN 1080C, and NFN 1080D.

Does anyone know if these tools are available anywhere, or if there is a way to set up without them?

Hello Alf,
The internal hydraulic systems for the 1085 and 1080 appear to be the same. My UK MF Special Tools book lists several setting tools for the 1080 that are the same as those used on the 100 Series tractors, most of which I have. US tool numbers are different to the UK ones probably due to UK ones being made by VL Churchill (now dead) and another manufacturer in the US. Most can be made if you have the dimensions. If you can give me a description of each tool's job then I might be able to at least give you the dimensions and UK numbers.

As with the smaller tractors having these tools is essential to 'get it right' but also to avaoid the risk of damaging the casing which can happen.
