3 pt hitch snow blower modification

having seen many videos on adding rubber extensions to the impellers of snow blowers I wonder if anyone on this site has done it. I would like to increase the distance that my TEA 20 with a snowblower throws the snow but don't want to mess anything up by taking this chance. Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.

Yes, I have done this to a number of snowblowers and the results are amazing. If the clearance between the edge of impeller and housing is less than 1/4 I have used heavy tractor inner tube rubber with a few self tapping screws (drill small hole in impeller first), or if larger gap use a piece of tire sidewall. Small bolts are good to mount too, but use large washers to help hold the rubber regardless of fastener.

Mot mine but a good picture setup

thanks for both of your replys. I wonder if I can get the impeller off to be able to drill the necessary holes. Looks like it could be quite tricky holding the impeller in place after removing the chute.

I do this to all snowblowers. It improves the throw tremendously.
I use old truck mudflaps and self taping screws
