3 pt hitch

Hi all. New to 3 pt. hitches so please bear with me. Here's the problem. Bought a 9n last year, been using a back blade, middle buster, and brush hog. No problems. Going through manual and decided to check adjustment on the big spring that runs from under the seat to the yoke. Following directions I raised the arms all the way up..... while doing this the arms went to the floor and will not come back up. Help ???

You could have a bad friction disc, stuck/dirty intake valve, a blown top cover gasket, a leaky pressure relief valve or the control rod is loose from the pump. Take the inspection plate w/ the dipstick off. Reach in & make sure the control rod is connected. If it is, move the touch control lever & make sure it moves the control rod. If the control rod is connected & the touch control lever doesn't move it, the friction disc might be bad.

BTW, forget about adjusting that draft control spring unless you plan to heat the yoke up w/ a torch to get it loose.

On rare occasions the retaining pin 74034-S can break and you will never know it until you lift up the rear arms by hand. That lets the dogbone (526) fall out of the ram arm (545) and you are no longer connected to the lift cylinder piston. Look in the side cover and see if the dogbone is still there in the ram arm.

Got it. The control valve somehow came out of the fork. Popped it back in and works just fine. Thanks again.
