Don't know why you would need to worry about the barrel rusting? It serves no prepose after the crete sats up

I own 2 of those and they have not been on any of my tractors for at least 20 years. Why you ask well they do nothing but add weight. Here is the right way to ad weight it helps and you have something you can use at the same time

I've never liked those things.
I have a couple of concrete something-or-others that someone poured 40 or 50 years ago that are still laying in the weeds up at my land. About the only way to get rid of them is to bury them or haul them to a concrete recycling place.

Myself if i was looking to add some 3 point weight I would go scrapping for iron and cobble something to hang on the 3 point. Not only does it ballast to your tractor but it is inherently valuable as iron. I made up this 3 point weight a few years ago when I still had access to make the pins. I scrounged the weights out of a dumpster. They weigh about 175 lbs each piece.
Nowadays I would just cobble some heavy iron thing on to an 11 hole drawbar and accomplish the same thing.

I have a home made concrete weight similar to the one shown. one advantage is it's close to the back between the tires. with a wagner loader sticking way out front it can be difficult getting around in the woods as it is, I guese it depends on what you use the tractor for.

Do you have any info on the weights you added to your back blade, I've been hoping to do this for some time, and have no idea where to start.

In the picture you can not see the wheel weight I have on the center link post which is off a JD-D and it fit just fine but others would also. Look for one that has a small diameter like used ton the JD-D or the Case VAC. The other weights are just plain Jane suit case weights an the one on my blade are IH 85lbs weights that just hang on the blade. Most any suit case weights would work
