How can say a radio work when a switch is in run and also when in ACC if the two aren't tied when the key is in the run position?
My apologies to Janicholson, I misread/misinterpreted what he posted. Yes, the internal disc contact points on the rotary disc turned by the key (of at least some switches) connect just the battery and ACC terminals when turned left to ACC position. When turned to the right, ignition, there are contacts on the disc that connect with the battery, ignition, and ACC terminals. The contact that mates to the ACC terminal when turned to IGN is a different contact than the one that mates with the ACC terminal when in the ACC position.
