30 GP

I went to look at a 1930 GP in a neighboring state. It was a decent looking tractor started and run well and the transmission sounded ok. Sheet metal was good and it was an older restoration on full steel wheels. Radiator had good antifreeze,no PTO and wrong mag. The owner inherited the tractor and does not know much about tractors and equipment. He wants me to make him an offer. So my question is what do you guys think its worth. And yes I do have my own idea, but I'm asking for yours. Tractor is located in the midwest. Any helpful comments are appreciated.

Hello Big G. I think its worth depends on whether you're buying it to sell for profit or just to have it. If you just want to have it, it's probably worth whatever you're willing to pay for it. I saw one at the Miami Valley steam threshers show and was told a doctor paid $10,000 for it. It was all origional and it was a GPWT...........RW

I picked up a 30 GP 3 or so years ago as a "project". Complete for $750 at auction. Course it has its issues! Front and back wheels were cutdowns and UGLY. Radiator top was swapped of a '31-'35 so exhaust wasnt routed through hood but out side. Oh and most important of all- it was stuck! So over past couple of years I've swapped, searched, and located all the necessary pieces to put it correct. Guess I'm probably out about $2000 total so far, but I love the hunt!
