What are these holes on the right side for? I don't remember them on the 300 or 400 when we milked cows. Picked this one up last summer, no tach, no dipstick, just petcocks like the B and SM.
I do have a battery box for it. I think other than the maybe the engine, she's mostly original.

Early F-300 didn't have dipsticks. From memory if block cast number is 362743R1. Dipstick blocks end in R2. Also early top covers and transmission housings used 7/16 bolts at rear of top cover and 1/2 inch after 300 utilities started. SH cast rear wheels were standard early then 8 spoke wheels.

I'm curious about those two threaded blind holes, though. There's a boss under them and they don't go clear through.


Sn is 8187, so its in the first 3200 made.
 
Don't know about the holes. Maybe for mounting something if tractor was converted to reverse direction. Dipsticks were added on F-300 serial 9338, engine serial 9341. 8 spoke wheels serial 3727 started.
