3000 3 point pin

My son Luke spent a bunch of his hay money today, and brought home this '74 3000.
One repair it needs is a new 3 point pin in the axle trumpet. I've never done this job, but I've read about it here. Pull the trumpet and take the nut off from the inside, right? Can it be done without removing the loader, or would we be better off not trying to work around that?
It has a differential lock, but the pedal is missing. Probably tackle that at the same time, as well as the stuck right brakes.

I've only had that happen on the right side once on a 335. Had the local dealer do it. The mechanic took the left side off . I asked why he went in that way. Saved 2 hours by not having to deal with the def lock. Made since to me. Thought that might help.

My 1970 3400 had similar problems. I did remove the loader, which wasn't really that hard. I also had to removed the ROPS (which was a pain) and the back-hoe lower attach structure. The trumpet is heavy, be careful. The right hand pin can be removed through the left side. I used 3M 5200 sealant (marine grade) on both sides. Replaced the brake through shaft seals too. You might have to replace the axle seals if they are leaking causing the sticky brakes. (I did) No leaks today.
