3000 bleed hydraulic

I noticed my hydraulics are shaky today. I m interested to see if there s any air in my system. Is this the screw I need to loosen/remove to do that? I ve read I need to remove my primary coil wire, and then bleed the pump while cranking the engine.

No. On the side at about the 8 o'clock position there should be a 3/8 pipe plug. That is what you need to look for.

Correct screw if anyone cares to know the answer now? Hey whats a few yrs right folks?..lol
Loosen this Allen plug, place a large bucket under pump to begin.

1) Start tractor, remove Allen plug from pump & run tractor till a "steady" oil stream occurs from hole. Immediately stop engine, place thumb over hole & quickly reinstall plug! Done!
Or
2) Per shop manual:
Remove center distributor/coil wire (temp disable engine), have a helper turn ignition key to crank engine/pump.
When fluid has a steady flow stop cranking engine, hold a thumb over hole & quickly reinstall Allen plug. Reinstall coil wire. Done!
Must been another Ford better idea to keep that Dog tick faut size air bubble out? Peace

Put a hose barb in place of that plug and run a clear hose back to the fill port. Let it run some then shut it off. You'll see bubbles in the hose that you can't see when it's running. Let it run a while to see if it clears. If not you have more work hunting down the source of the air.
