3000 radiator

I've got a 73 3000 that has a split in the brass sheet of the core right under the seam with the upper tank. I took it to a shop to see if it can be
repaired and they said they could try but wouldn't guarantee it would hold. They can recore it to the tune of $600. Has anyone had any
experience with the one sold on this site as to fit and quality? I'd much rather spend $200. Any advise is greatly appreciated

I don't know what YT sells. I sell Clancy radiators supplied by A&I with great success. If YT radiators are supplied by Clancy, I would say go for it. $600 for a recore of a 3000 radiator is nuts.

Agree with RickB below regarding Clancy, once a supplier to Ford.

I've had bad luck with Chinese aftermarket radiators and avoid them like the plague.

What different radiators do you have with Clancy?

I will be replacing the one on my MH44 at some point

Thanks Rick and Dean for the advice, l think I'm going to check with another radiator shop on this one. If that doesn't pan out I'll look for one from A&I

My experience has been that it is advisable to have your OEM radiator recored rather than buying a replacement. There are multiple reasons for this but $600 sounds out of line.

If you choose the recore route, be CERTAIN to specify a flat-fin industrial core for anything but a trailer queen.

No. I did not say that.

AFIK, Clancy radiators remain a good alternative, though my information is about 10 years old.

That said, I prefer to recore an OEM radiator rather than replacing it. I'm spoiled, though as I have a very good radiator shop nearby.
