3010/ hydraulic rake

Would a 3010 have the ability to run a hydraulic driven rake?

My son ran a double hydraulic rake for several years behind a 3020 without any problems so don't see why a 3010 wouldn't work as well.

It should run it but it won't like it. Anytime a hyd motor is run off a 10 or 20 series Deere the hyd's get very hot. I have a short grain intake auger and just running it long enough to fill a semi with grain will really heat up the hyd so running a rake for extended time will make even more heat. Tom

Yep what Tom said for sure. My uncle runs a hydraulic sprayer pump on a 2510. The sprayer had an orifice to cut down the flow rate. He tried running that way and the hydraulics would squeal loud enough to hurt your ears and get hot enough you couldn't touch the lines on the tractor. He talked to Schaben about taking the orifice out and they told them it would be hard on the sprayers pump and could take it out. He decided a sprayer pump was cheaper than the hyd pump on the tractor so he took it out. That really helped and he's run it that way for a few years with no problems. It still would get warm and wasn't good on the tractor so he ran the return line direct to the sump instead of the remote. That helped as well but the tractor isn't designed to run hydraulic pumps and they aren't good on them no matter what fixes you make.

Ditto on heating hyd oil. Be sure 3010 hyd oil cooler is very clean before attaching the rake to your tractor.

There is a flow rate adjustment that can be made on control valve under the sheet metal. On a late 20 series Deere went to turtle valve and integral outlet valve box in back. If only enough flow is used for job heat will be minimized. Two questions. Is there a valve on rake and is it closed center? Any other high pressure leaks like the hitch thermal relief valve?
