3010 wheel weights

I have a 3010 that I plan to use to pull my 3-16 f145a plow, I was wondering what would be a good recommendation for weight that might need to be added. The ground around here is kind of all over the place with areas with lot of sand and in other areas more silt. We do have a decent loam soil but it quickly gets heavy and then will turn to sand.

I would like to know what part number are the weights that are supposed to go on this tractor, as well as the amount of weight recommended. I live in south metro Minnesota between hwy 52 and I35 so if the location helps anyone out with soil conditions.

I don't have a clear answer for your weight requirement, but sometimes you will find weighting info in the operators manual for the implement you are pulling. Do you know if the tires have fluid in them now?

Would you happen to have been related to Dick Dubbels from Castle Rock?

Yes I'm his grandson! I will look in the operators manual on the tractor and the plows manual when I get home. I Probably won't be doing any plowing his fall anymore unless this dang winter weather lets up like last year.

I worked for a contractor that worked at the college. Knew your grandpa for 15 years or so. I still think of him often. I miss his wit and humor. And his stories of growing up on the farm. Scott

I miss him also. Its hard to believe that its been 10 years already I talk to his brother Dave quite a bit (That's where I get to see all the cool hidden treasures).

Get the plow operator manual.. OM-A15152 for F145H semi-mount plow.. Tells how to set-up tractor-
hook-up plow and adjust, great information.. Round rear cast wheel weights have a number on them; a
casting number.. Rear weight R61524R is 140 pounds and R61727R is 120 pounds.. Three bolts hold them onto
rear wheel center cast... Front cast weights are two side starter weights number R27642R... Then front
cast weight R27643R bolts onto starters... Can add what you need..

Hopefully it works this time

The rear has after market weights are proably more avaible. BW 701 is the number cast in them. There is front but dont know what the number is.

IIRC A3404R rear wheel weights will fit.

Come on this is a show tractor I need originals.

I looked up part number R61524R and R61727R but I didnt see any that said they were for a 3010 R61524R was made for the 20-30 series I believe. Im almost certain that they would fit but I dont want to look like a fool at the shows

Im with TXJim, A3404 rear wheel weight, also known as the "Z" weight, is the only way to go on the rear. You have the rack and a few weights on the front. You probably
only need one more front weight if that. How many weights for the rear? I dunno, as someone already asked, are your rears liquid ballasted? Guessing you are looking at
one set of rear weights at a minimum.

The tires are currently not filled with fluid, or at least the last time I filled them the valve stems were low on the rim and no liquid sprayed out. I looked at the pictures online and I found this page in my tractors operators manual.

I either supervised or installed weights on new/used JD tractors from '65-'87 at a JD dealership & A3404R is early part # I remember. You also need to understand that in the time frame since 3010's rolled off the assembly line that some part #s have been substituted.

Tdubbels, Here is a picture of a 4010 plowing. I do not know anything about the soil conditions in the picture, but looks to be 3 or 4 sets hanging on. Best of luck, and nice setup.

I was thinking that I might need one set for sure, Ive seen some pictures of tractors doing well in similar looking soil with no weight but I dont know if they had fluid in the tires or not.

A semi mount plow is supposed to put the down force of the plow on the rear tires right?? So I shouldnt need much weight or at least not as much as a drawn plow.

Sorry TX Tim I didnt mean to be rude I appreciate all the information I can get I saw the IIHC in front of the part number you gave and it through me for a loop. Will A3404R be stamped on the weights for product identification
