3010 wide front

Is there any reason why the front end from a 3010 would not fit a 2510? 3010 is selling cheap on an online auction, and I've thought of buying it just for the front end if the rest of the tractor is no good. 3010 is only at $1250 with 8 hours to go. I assume its a diesel but not sure. I have not been to see it. Thoughts?

To possibly avoid disappointment in case you aren't already aware, on-line auction prices often go up quickly as the ending time of the auction gets closer.

I would beware of buying an axle via online sale, they are frequently abused and expensive to repair.

I'm aware, I've bought and sold via online sales. I hope to make it over to look at it before it closes. If tractor is okay, I'll put a single front under it and re-sell it, and put the wide front on my 2510, which I know is a good tractor. Just mainly curious if it would fit. Most are interchangeable, though the 2510 was a little different beast than the 3010. Thanks for your replies.

You could go to the JD parts site, look up the part numbers for several key parts on a 3010 front axle, then look up the part numbers for the same key parts on the 2510 front axle. If they're not the same past numbers, it most likely will not fit. If they are the same numbers, maybe it will fit. So, if there's hope, keep looking up part numbers 'till you're satisfied one way or another. I once got stung by buying a WFE for a model M at an auction thinking it was for a model MT. It would have taken a lot of cutting and welding to make it fit. Finally after several years of trying, I got my money back out of it and made a model M owner happy.

It is the same and many wait until last 10 minutes and many time there will be a maximum bid that only shows after you submit a bid that will tell you have automatically been outbid.I was trying to buy a tractor last week and it took 5 bids to determine what bid would be tied with highest bid and what bid would be highest bid.I know they say that owner isn't suppose to bid against you but their friends sure can.
