So we have a 3020 LP (propane) tractor in the shop that just does not run well... We worked on it last fall, at the time the regulator was shot. Got a new regulator from Century Fuel products (Model H regulator) and put it on. Had to modify the manifold bracket as the new regulator had 3/4" NPT outlet instead of the deere 2 bolt flange. Also reset the timing to factory spec as the customer's first action when it wouldn't run was to start twisting the distributor back and forth.. Worked good, made decent power on the dyno.
Fast forward to this spring, customer calls, says can't hardly get the tractor started and runs terrible. We went out, winched it on the trailer and brought in to the shop. Tractor won't start unless you nearly block the carb inlet off with your hand. Then it will start and idle OK. but if you try to rev it up at all, it pops and spits and just acts terrible. Seems to run lean sometimes, rich other times. Any suggestions on where to start??
