3020 front end question

Im replacing the Schwartz front end on my 3020 with a factory wide front off of a 4010. The guy says its in good condition with no cracks or welds of any kind. Apart from obvious damage or bent metal, is there anything else I should check for when I go to inspect it in person?

Be SURE that you put the correct length bolts in the tie rod arm,,2 1/8 any longer and it will tighten into the seal...

That will be a big improvement over Schwartz but the JD front will not withstand abuse with front end loader. If they are not welded on that is a good start. The tierods ends can be replaced.Remember 4010s
came out in 1961 which makes them about 60 years old. Some have reinforced the knees with a gusset than helps .

(quoted from post at 17:48:11 10/27/21) See how much end play in the spindles 1/8-1/4 and if they turn freely. Grab the mount and see if the pivot bushings need replacing.

Good tips guys thanks.

Can the pivot bushings be replaced by hammering them out or will take a press?

A better deal would be to use a 30 or 40 series front as far as holding up.
Call a salvage yard that also has the adapter for the change over.
