3020 Reverse

A 1966 3020,gas ,syncro range ,none of the reverse gears work but all of the forward gears do,does this sound like a linkage problem?

Do shifter drums in dash have much slack?

I have not seen this tractor except for pictures,but I bet it has a lot of hours on it

Sounds to me like top shaft in trans needs a rebuild. Do they grind or just not there? Tom

I second Tx Jim; do some trouble-shooting. Easy to check to make sure the shifter
drums are tight, especially the range drum and is it shifting into reverse? If all is good,
then go onto the next step...
