3020 side console utility?

A friend bought a 3020 side console gas with a bad engine.It is different than any 3020 I ever seen.It has the front spindles off a 3020 utility as well as having 30" rear wheels.It is the same as a reguler 3020 other than that.It had a loader on it since new.I know the utility version of the 3020 was dropped when the side console tractors came out.So did someone put this tractor together or is it just some unusual options that were available?

Standard was an option in 3020 parts catalog for >SN 123,000
FIXED TREAD FRONT AXLE
(STANDARD WITH SHORT AND LONG WHEEL BASE)

Thinking it may be a standard ,with extra sheet metal removed, row crop fenders, They could be ordered with 30" rear tires, short knees & spindles on adj. row crop front axles, turned backwards to short wheel base position ..If it's a standard it will have serial # prefix T-121 ; Row crop T-111

I never thought about a standard.The front end is in the long position but you could probably order them how ever you wanted.

A utility will not have a platform- your legs straddle the transmission case. A utility will also have the steering column at a different angle than a low crop or standard- not going up at 45 degrees, but maybe 30.

The front end could have come from something else, or it could have been ordered that way... do you have pics?

Pics of 3020 standards, both have row crop wide front reversed [short wheel base, with low profile knees & spindles on early 3020] Regular row crop front ,Long wheel base on late model... If JD engineers had made a side console Utility ,it might have looked more like the 4000 Low Profile...

I've seen 3010 and 3020 utilities with the front end in either position...
