3020 Starter Replacement.

Trying To Put A New Gear Reduction Starter On My 3020 Diesel.. Tractor Had A 12v Starter But Tractor Was Orignally A 24v.. Anyways I Have It Wired Like The 12v Was And All I Get Is A Click Out Of The New Gear Red. Starter.. Any Ideas... I Have The Large Postive And A Small Wire On The Big Lug, Then A Small Wire To Sol. All Light And Buttons Work..

Have you checked voltage especially when trying to start engine??

No, Batterys Both Are 6 Months Old.. I Will Check That...

You could also entertain the idea of adding the relay kit that late model 4020 had from the factory.

I had the same problem when I converted my 3020 and ended up putting in a relay and problem solved.
