3020 syncro shifter problems

I have a 4010 with syncro. My shift problems were all in the parts in the dashboard. I had to replace the brass bushings and the part that selects the range. When that broke everything locked up wrong, in the transmission. It wasn’t easy to see because a corner chipped off. My suggestion is start there and make sure it is 100%. Are you saying you are 100% absolutely sure no wear issues in the dash? There’s a YouTube video on that.

Yes I just put all new bushings and fiber washers the shaft in the transmission doesn't seem to move enough .Took the top off the transmission can't really see as it is in the bottom of the transmission.

Maybe post your question to the JD board and get more opinions. I think the last resort is a tractor split just to look. Some guys here have mentioned looking down into cylinders with a scope so maybe that is an option. You may want to describe what and how the problem first occurred. I have a 2010 that wouldn’t shift into high range for 2 years and now it mysteriously will. I assume something is wrong under the dash but I haven’t got around to digging into it yet. Good luck.

Jack a rear wheel up and move the shifter while looking inside. You said high gear 8 ? So you have 7th, 5th, and 3rd that works good ? Did you try and adjust the rod to get more travel, this will also throw the alignment off on other gears. Is the arm or rod worn out for the lower shaft ?

Thank you I will
