Is the block on a gas engine and a diesel the same? Can you take a diesel engine and build it the same and turn it into a gas? What would be diffrent between the 2 block's?

the blocks are basically the same. the gas uses 9/16 head bolts and the diesel uses 5/8. so if you put a gas head on a diesel block you have to drill out the stud holes.
