310c jd throttle problem

got a guy that has an 86 or 87 jd 310c starts and idles but no response when trying to give it throttle....i"m assuming it"s the injection pump any help would be great..thanks

It sounds like the return line check valve is clogged up,remove the return line at the pump (the one that goes up and across all the injectors and on to the top of the fuel tank), unscrew the fitting out of the pump it will have a check valve crimped into it, file the fitting a bit and then pry the washer,ball and spring out, blow it clean and re-install it,this happens when the coupler inside starts to deteriorate, you will need to have the pump rebuilt in the near future, but it will run okay for a while,....

ok so i checked it out and told the guy it's that check valve and now wants me to rebuild pump....any good place to get a kit? and manual?

Best bet is to send it to a pump shop..

i'm a diesel tech and have been into other pumps just un familiar with these.

Okay, you never know for sure what each of us are capable of doing on here, I'm not sure where you would get the parts at, I send all my pumps to Columbus Diesel..
