3414 B414 distributor, what fits?

[JDguy]

Hey guys, need to pick your brains. I have a 3414 tractor/loader with BC144 gas engine. Problem is dist. is shot. Are there any USA IH models that have distributor to fit this thing? I believe it is a Delco.

The BC-144 can one of three versions of the Lucas 43D4 distributor and also a British Delco.

There are some cars that were sold in the US that use them, but they weren't made in the US. Most common is the 1974 to 1983 MGB sports car. It was also used in the Austin Rover, Minicooper, Lotus Elite, Austin Healy Sprite, etc.

Your best bet is to pick one up on Ebay when the time is right, or at a junkyard. Many other IH tractors use that BC-144 engine. I know because I got searching for the British-Zenith carb awhile back.

B275, B414, 354, 354, 364, 434, 3414, 3444 etc. all used the BC-144.
