35 massy questions

Iv found a 35 massy I'm thing about trading
for that has a busted transmission housing.
My qustion is iv got a friend that has a 40
ferguson junk out, I was wondering if that
would be the same transmission?

I would say it's the same. Be sure and change the pop off valve. That's what busted it.

I'm interested in what area of the Transmission is there a "busted transmission housing"

I own and operate a MF FE 35 X as well as a TEA-20. ...I would just as soon avoid a busted transmission housing if I was to know what caused it?

They are the same IF the 40 is a standard clearance. The High Arch has a different gear ratio.

Is it the transmission housing or the rock shaft(under seat) that's busted? Most the time that's what's busted.

Iv not looked at it yet very good. I know the guy that has the tractor and they use it regularly to bush hog with with a pull behind mower. So iv seen it but never looked at it closely. From my understanding it busted on the top somewhere bc he said you can look down if you are in the seat and see it. That leeds me to think it's the top lift cover or maybe the tranmission cover.

His is a high arch would that make it slower or faster gear? If it'd slower it may work out anyway bc I was wanting it to run a 3pt tiller on

The high arch is geared slower to compensate for the taller tires.

Depending on location of crack, etc... we successfully welded a 35 with a busted housing and it's still holding up to this day. Just a thought.

More than likely its the lift cover.
