Jerry was asking about one of my crawlers,, I happen to have it out using it yesterday so I snapped a few pics for him,,

Here I was using the 4-In-One bucket to move a chunk of belting

I dug out a weight that had been throw off here years ago and was getting buried in the dirt, a simple job with teh bucket teeth

here I had added some material where I pulled the belting from,,

My Uncle worked at Drott in Wausau Wis in the late 50's/early 60's , not sure the age of yours ,
I think they made pretty good stuff

This one is a 1970 model,, I had a Drott loader on a I-4 ih years ago,, that was in the early 50's build I think

Case Nutty 1660 - had a question for you, on the backhoes I'm looking for a unit to fool around with (do work, but not make a living). I see the W3's around but would like a 580 due to parts availibility. I was targeting 580 CK's (before B's) due to weight, don't expect to move it much, but will use my f350 to if I have to move it. Are the w3's decent (trunion cylinders on hoe)? Are the extendahoes worth having? What would you go for?

Well, a W-3 is really a beefed up in a place or two 530CK,, both good machines,, a 580CK,, is a step up in power and capacity,, as for deciding between a 580CK and a 580B I would base that off if you plan on roading it much,, both a darn Great machines,, the 580B is 100% a 580CK other than the tin work, a raised flat deck operator floor, and the main change is the over center backhoe,, for roading it is Light years ahead for machine balance,, on either the 580CK/580B machines I highly recommend the counter weight which was a option,, your last question on a extendahoe,, this depends on what you are wanting to do, they are extremely Handy,, the extra 4' of reach comes in handy but just for normal average digging they are not needed,, we never sold one until the 580B came and then few of them by the 580C we always had a few on the lot as demand for them increased, I have put lots of hours on a 580L and 580SM,, on these machines I would for sure want it myself,, but again a std hoe will do most anything you need, hope this helps

I would yes but the cylinder and ripper shanks were gone when I got it,, also missing the Heavy counter weights so you have to watch picking up to much,, I am hunting for them

Nice to see another 1970 350 still in action. I just finished rebuilding the engine on mine.It isn't totally running right yet but it is getting there.
