37 Unstyled A

Just bought a 37 Unstyled A.Manifold seemed to get hot enough to heat the carb hot enough to boil fuel in carb and all the way back to sediment bowl. Bubbles in sediment bowl like an air stone in a fishtank. Let it cool off and tractor runs fine. Coolant teperature is 190 deg F. This tractor seems to warm up quite quickly compared to my other 2 cylinder tractors. Also noticed when running at night time, flames out of muffler.Any advice appreciated.

Our 530 had gas bubbling in the sediment bowl !!

Let it cool off, added fresh gas and then it seemed fine? Must of been the older and maybe winter blend ?

Pulled valve cover off,r/s intake valve set at .003" when cold, I suspect once it was hot and metal expansion occurred, intake valve slightly open when cylinder fired allowing hot gasses back into carb causing carb to heat up.set valves to .025" cold, since it calls for .020" hot.gonna try it out.

Not sure, this tractor was completely rebuilt 16 yrs ago and has not ran 10 hrs. it has been under its blankie until I got it. Just strange how one was so tight and the other valves within reason.I tried it again and it seemed better.only time on it will tell, thanks all for the posts.
