38" rim replacement

I have a 1965 4000 and one of the rims are about rusted through around the valve stem and you can move it. I am having trouble finding a new rim. The tire on it now is a 13.6-38 and wanting to try and use it. Any suggestions on where to find a new rim?

Washburn has them. I put a new set of 15x30 8 loops from them on my 4000 and am very happy. USA made in MO, and very nice. Look them up at hayspeardotcom

Worthington Ag Parts lists new ones. They AREN'T cheap. Most tractor boneyards could probably set you up with a used one. Another option, if it isn't too far gone, would be to take the tire off, clean it up, and weld a patch on the inside. Just make sure to grind it SMOOTH before putting the tire and tube back on.

That rim might be repairable, if you can fit and weld.
If the rim is still usable other than the rusted out area around the stem, you can measure where the stem location is and drill a new hole away from the present location, locate it identical to where it is presently between the loops. Then just cut out the rusted area and fit a patch in place, weld and repaint. If you are handy at all, you can repair it back to original.
Good luck

$190 or $210 at Washburn new depending on width. In some cases it's not worth trying to rehab a rim, and these are a good option.

For some reason, I read "8 loop", but was thinking "8 rail", as in power adjust. 8 loop aren't all that bad, new. New power adjust are over $500.
I'd still look at the possibility or repairing before replacing.
