380 CASE Production Numbers?

I do not know what Case changed on the DB 885 to give it a different paint job and number. Tractor data says they were built from 71-80, I know little about these tractors but thought they were around longer than that. I think the DB plant was closed in 1988. If anyone can shed some light on these tractors please do so. I would imagine they were exported to countries other than the US. Rod

It doesn't make any sense that they started building them before Case bought DB. All I have seen had screw on oil filters which started in 1975 or so.

I haven't seen any from foreign sources while cruising the internet.

I think the built them until the 380B came out which I think was an IH Doncaster chassis I think, so maybe 1985???

This one is bugging me so I did a little digging. Case online parts books say 1970 to 1980 for the 380, and 1986 on for the 380B(which makes sense).

DB didn't start building the 885 until January of 1971, ended in 1983 or so, they built the 1190 and 94 until 1985 but they have different frame castings.

I'll consult my paper materials if I get a free moment, I think I have some 380 publications, but it is all buried and unorganized.

I was sent a little information from a trustworthy source that production started in 75 and that would agree with the spin on filters. Also mentioned was the production
stopped around 85 when they were replaced by the IH source called the 380B. I have been unable to come up with the number of DB 380's. They are kind of a mysterious
little tractor which seem to have been forgotten about, I did not remember CASE even building them until seeing some lit a couple months ago. Rod.
