3910 Ford Tractor

Want to trade my 3910,1990,2 wheel drive Ford tractor with loader in Atlantic Canada,Roll bar with canopy top. New excellent paint job.what do you think I should get on a trade in? Thanks Percy

I'm not sure what dealers are giving on trades in that area, it really depends on the demand for that size used tractor in your area, but expect to get quite a bit less in trade than you could get by selling it yourself.

Here in southeast PA, the most you could probably sell that tractor for on craigslist is about $5000.00 if it is in as good of a condition as you say, but expect at least $1000.00 less from a dealer on a trade, as they need to make a profit.

I don't think I have ever seen one around here for less than $8,000-10,000 and if FWA, they are more like $14,000. I agree that the dealer will discount what they offer you by at least 25% so they can make money on it too.

I'm inclined to agree with you on value, especially since it's a late Series 2 and with a loader!

I'm with Sean on the pricing. Those other guys are pretty excited about a tractor that still carries a front axle born on an 8N. We don't know if it is an 8X2 or 8X4 synchro, or if it has the single or dual pump hydraulic system.
No point in giving the OP hopes of big bucks if the tractor isn't carrying premium equipment.

It's still a buyer's market, at least here.

It's pretty hard to guesstimate a price without knowing the transmission and hydraulic options along with what kind of condition it's in. Paint doesn't mean squat to me.
Generally speaking I think you'll find most 3910's retail in the 10K plus range around here which is considerably more than suggested in other areas... but you won't get that or even near that on trade. Depending... I think you'd more realistically be in the 6-8K range depending on just how nice it really is. 10 series tractors do still draw a strong price in this market.
