3point lift

My MF 165 does not lift my brush hog. It starts to lift, then it looks like the draft control pulls out and the lift stops.

What do you mean by "draft control pulls out" ?

On our 100 series tractors (165,175) theres two levers for
the 3 point the outside one had a round top and is
coupled through the top link for ground engaging
implements and was sensitive to draft control. The in side
one had a more square top referred to as the quadrant
that is used for position control. In other words that one
the quadrant is what you would use for your brush hog. It
should hold it in any number of infinite positions. But in
order for it to work that way the draft round knob one
needs to be all the way back!

All the way back? Does that mean towards the top of the quadrant or the bottom of the quadrant?

he draft control is a plunger under the tractor seat that controls plow depth while plowing and should not move when the draft lever is all the way back.

Thanks for your reply. My draft control is all the way back and things were working fine. But I just noticed recently that when pressure began to pull on the top link the 3pt stopped lifting because plunger under the tractor seat slightly moved outward. Just wondered if this is a common problem with an easy fix.

OK thanks, if you would have said draft control spring, I would have known what you were talking about.

I found that the stop adjustment on the draft control did not allow the draft control to move far enough back. I had to remove the movable stop.
