3point on 2510

I just bought a '67 2510G synchro. The 3 point seems to move with a bit of delay. In the manual I got with the tractor I see there are (3) settings on a selector lever under the seat...L, LD, and D. I read the manual and maybe because I'm new to this I'm not sure which setting to use with what implement. I'm going to use a 6 ft brush hog and disc. Can anyone offer a quick description of these settings and where I should set them.. I'm trying to get the 3 point to operate as I think it should and wonder if this setting of the selctor lever could be the issue. If it's not, what else might I adjust/fix?

When moldboard plowing, set it to "L" (LOAD) (some other tractor manufacturers call that setting "DRAFT"). If you don't want it to be as sensitive to lift the plow as it encounters a tough spot, shift it more towards the "LD" position

For the rotary cutter and 'most all other operations, set it to "D" (DEPTH) (some other tractor manufacturers call that setting "position control") as it keeps the mower or other implement at a constant height for a given setting of the lift lever.

If it doesn't operate correctly set in that matter repairs or internal adjustments are needed.

We always just leave them in the LD position. This gives you a nice inbetween that will work with everything. Get an operators manuel it is the best investment you can make in your tractor.

IMHO you gave a very good answer to a much misunderstood hyd function

There is an internal adjustment that is not hard to make. You remove the plug beside the centerlink bracket and reach inside with a socket to adjust. Make sure socket fits tight, we have ours welded on. There are other details you need to know and right now my service manual is loaned out and hasn't come home. Maybe your dealer would let you read or copy his. Better yet get a service manual of your own. We use our books alot. Check E-bay sometimes they can be bought for half or less of Deere price. I do not like a I&T manual, sometimes they tell you just enough to get you in trouble.Hope this helps
