3pt brush mower

48/8n. looking at buying a 3pt bh. i think i read a 5ft was ok? i also need a orc and check chain. does anyone have a pic on chain set up? also the only brand they sell here is king kutter, any thoughts on this brand? thanks for your advice

You are referring to limiter chain I think. Goes from the top link pin on the tractor to each side of the mower somewhere near the lift arms.

I don't have pictures anymore but I built mine. Even with buying new chain and a small piece of bar steel the cost was under 10 dollars.

I have em for my finish mower but don't use em on the 3 point brush mower.

As far as as the mower brand is concerned.....around my neck of the woods they are not highly thought of.

Get a 5 ft. Brush hog, Woods, Deere, and ford are quality decks.

I"ve had good luck with a Howse ( 20 + years , no repairs other than welding a few cracks.)

I shopped around and all the bushogs in my price range 700-1000 were basically built the same. Quality is more evident the higher price you go. I picked a middle of the road one which I knew would be around where I could get parts if needed. The chains I bought off this site. They have picture. I would have made them had I still had access to torch and welder. Easy to figure out. Both chains hook to topink and each side of bushog where your lift arms hook up. Think I paid 21.95 plus shipping. Nice set too. HTH, Bob

I looked at those, but in my mind in my price range, I went with the King Kutter from Orschelin. Just looked better built. But turns out the night before I was going to go get it, one appeared on craiglist right down the road from me for 400. It was hardly used, so I snatched it up that night. The new one was 800 plus tax. The countryline if I recall was about 150 higher than that. My two cents. Good Luck, Bob

King Kutter was MADE IN THE USA when I bought the 5ft Tiller. Works great.I buy American Made when possible.

I've been using the same king kutter bushog since 1997. Never any problems and I use mine for actual brush clearing where if I can push it over, I'll bushog it.
