3pt hitch troubles-wierd

I am having issues with my 3 point hitch. It seemsas if the control lever does not push tne intake control valve in far enough to raise the hitch all the way up. With the inspection cover off, I can reach in and move the intake control valve in by hand and it the hitch goes all the way. if I pull the touch lever out of the quadrant and overextend it the hitch will go all the way up. I have moved the quadrant adjustment fully forward. I notice the control lever has alot of "slop". Also, with the draft control on-lever forward- the control lever becomes disabled and I have no operation of the hitch. It seems as if the control lever is "floating" Thanks guys!

Time to pull the lift cover. It needs adjusting from the inside. The cam follower pin is probably worn out. And, your control rod may be bent as well. The I&T FO4 manual, plus Zane's adjusting jig will solve the problem. You can adjust it w/o the jig, but it's a lot easier w/ it.

Sounds like it is time to take to cover off and readjust the linkages. Zane's jig and instructions make it much easier.

Thanks guys. You are right- the cam follower pin is wasted. the cam lobe is chewed up a little too. I am wondering if that will cause issues or if its nothing to worry about.

1. get Zane's jig to adjust it, Best money you'll EVER spend on your tractor, the adjustment can then be done in minutes and it comes with a new cam follower pin, without it you can litteraly spend days playing with the adjustment.
2. replace the pin, we used a deepwell socket backed up with a block of steel placed over the pin, and drove it out with a hammer and punch from the other side, then just drove the new pin in.
3. you should be able to clean up the cam with a file good enough for the pin to follow it.

I bought the jig before I tore ours apart and the entire fix only took 2 hours start to finish, the adjustment was perfect the first try using the jig.
