3TNV80F injection timing issues

I have a yanmar 3tnv80f engine that i am working on and i made the mistake of pulling the 4 bolts out that hold the timing gear onto the injection pump instead of taking off the main nut in the center and pulling the gear at the hub. So how do i get the timing right for the injection pump. I can get the timing marks lined up on the injection gear but i don't know which position to bolt it onto the injection pump. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately, the manual just says to be sure to not remove the 4 flange bolts and to mark the gear before removing. I dont see anything that says what to do now.

You might contact a place that rebuilds that style pump and ask them. I know there has to be a pretty easy way to tell how the gear goes on since Yanmar does it on the assembly line. I just don't know the 'trick'.

Did anyone figure this out? We have a 1025r with this engine and need to know how to time it. The books say that the #1 cylinder closest to the fly wheel. But the timing marks line up with the cylinder that is closest to the radiator. Tried several times cannot figure it out. Please help. Thanks.

I know it was awhile ago but does someone know what the solution was for pulling the gear off the hub instead of pulling the hub from the pump ?
