40 l

I was told once on how to time a 40 l by turning it backwards to the spark or tdc mark then put the mag on and then its close to been time on number one. I can not remember how so any help guys thanks.

With #1 on tdc on the compression stroke, turn tne mag until it's ready to fire on #1 plug. Then install the mag and rotate it until the plug fires. It should be in time then.

Do a search. It has been written up many times how to time on the site with the mag taken off the tractor. The manual also spells it out very clearly how to take care of it.
