40 Steering Parts

Has anyone been able to get cup and bearing assembly for the steering sector for an F-40? Sparex has parts for UK verson s.41872-s.41873 which are to large. They don't offer American verson and neither does A&I or my local MF Dealer. The American verson numbers are 1003341M1 cup--1024477M91 for bearing assembly. Any help will be appreciated.

I would like to bet if you took those numbers to a good auto store they can trace them and get you what you need. Of course if you get the cup and bearing out those should have numbers on them and that will make it easier for the auto parts store to get them.

minor09, this site has what you are looking for, click on tractor parts in the upper left box then in the search box at the bottom of the page put in the bearing number and click search I think the price was $23.?? for the cup and bearing.

There was a topic on this site and someone had same problem. Don't remember what he did. Maybe someone will remember.I rebuilt one last year and had to use old parts.

Hey Mister Miner, can you please post some pics of this project sometime? That will be the next thing I tackle on my 40, it is a bear to steer.

Don't take it apart unless you have parts. Had trouble last year with one and used old parts from parts tractor. Sparex thought they had new parts and took this one apart thinking I had new ones coming. When parts arrived they were same as this site, larger. The numbers match but are wrong.

I discovered that on a to35 the manual and the power model are different. The power has a larger shaft and larger bearings. I looked at my bearing list and none matched the ones you listed.

Sounds like a good battle plan. There is an old bearing and seal shop in the city that can match anything if they have the dimensions. But, yeah, for now I will let sleeping dogs lie. thanks.

Have you tried taking your cup and bearing to a auto parts store for them to measure and see if they can find them in their books?
