my injector pump leaks fuel in to the bottom half in to the oil. i put the new seal in the lift pump and nothing changed what else is their to leak?

Does it leak when it is running or sitting? The reason I ask, if it fills the CC only while running it could be bad injectors. I am pretty sure I isolated my MD to this problem (Essentially the same system)
Everybody told me, "It has to be the lift pump, it always is." Yah, no. I got it rebuilt for $100 and tossed it on and no better.
You can pull the injectors and send them in to get tested. I am fairly certain mine are bad bc 2 and 3 don't pulse when I bleed them. FYI it is $82 to get the injectors rebuilt. This was from Central Diesel in IA and ____ in Eau Claire. I find it a little odd that it is the same exact price from both. I would guess they either send them somewhere to get rebuilt or they buy them and use yours as cores.

A or B type pump?
Worse running or stoped?
If fuel is shut off under tank at shutdown does it help or no change?
If its a B type, how much fuel drips out the drip pipe when running?

it seams to leak no matter what running or not fuel on or off. i know that the tank shut off works i had it apart. when it runs it will drip and drip, not very fast, out of the drip pipe. also when i bleed the injectors it is the same pulse. and as far as i can tell it runs on all 4.

A bad injection nozzle can cause crankcase dilution in the engine but it will not cause dilution in sump of inj pump. A leak into inj pump sump can cause crankcase dilution also. There are several different gaskets and seals inside pump that can cause leak into pump. Like previous poster said, different model pumps leak in different places and some when shut off or running and some only when running.

May want to make sure the correct gasket is on the end of primary pump. It has a hole in the gasket that need to line up with the passage to suction side of primary pump. Any leakage that comes from the distributor block or high pressure lines under the top cover flows to the suction side of primary pump. Fuel can also leak past the distributor valve tappets into sump. Leakage from the plunger piston or associated parts goes out the drip tube. If I remember right to much back up fuel trying to get out the drip tube will back up and go in the pump sump. If the primary pump gasket or the new seal is okay. Or the stand pipe in the fuel tank from the return line isn't broke off inside tank. Plunger assembly may need checked from top to bottom along with the sleeve and lifter below plunger assembly. Or distributor block, gaskets, fittings or rings.
