I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MY GRANDPAS TRACTOR IT WAS A 4000 FORD SELECT O SPEED NARROW FRONTEND BLUE & GRAY IT WAS BOUGHT AT DAVIS FARM SUPPLIES IN PERRYVILLE MISSOURI IM GUESSING IN EARLY 80;S IM WAS TRYING TO FIND IT B NOT SURE IF IT STAYED IN MO OR WENT TO IL

Since you say it was blue and grey, I'm assuming it was a '62-'64, 4-cylinder model. The newer 3-cylinder version was available as a narrow front row crop from '67 to '75, but most people would call it blue and white, as the grey used then was very light. Without a serial number, you'll have a very hard time finding the one your Grandpa had, unless there was something else about it to single it out. I'd like to find the Commander 6000 my Grandpa had... but since I don't have a serial number, I likely never will. I'd settle for one optioned the same way, if I found it at the right price. Good luck with your search. BTW... there's a '62-'64 4000 narrow front, Select-O-Speed diesel about 4 miles from me. It -might- be available if someone wanted it.

IM NOT SURE OF THE SERIAL# I WISH I KNEW IT BECAUSE IT WOULD HELP ALOT WHAT DOES YOUR NEIGHBOR WANT FOR HIS & DOES HE KNOW WHERE IT MIGHT HAVE CAME FROM THANKS CHRIS 573-883-6449

I'm not sure he'd sell it, but I'll ask. I'm in n/w WI, so you'd be looking at a fair amount of distance to haul it.

Just a note - Please turn your caps lock off. Typing in all capital letters is taken by most folks on the internet that you're YELLING at them.

There are not many of those compared to most other tractors, so you have a chance of finding it. Try calling around to CNH dealers that were Ford and ask if they know of any in there area. The parts guys are likely to know. That is how I found a few that I was looking for.

I know this may sound like a dumb question but have you tried to talk to Jerry at Davis farm supplies. Since he worked there most of his life he might know something about your Grandpa's tractor. After the bad rap in the begining of the SOS I don't think they were easily sold so it may have sat at the dealership a while. He may have records of it or be your best lead to your grandpa's tractor.

Kirk I already have sat down with Jerry & had no luck. His records started on computer in 1986 so I have very little to go on. I thought I could possibly find something out on this site maybe finding someone that may have bought it. It was worth a shot I think I will still try to find it.
