4000 trysicle

I just bought a 4000 3 cylinder trysicle ford . Could any one tell me how many were builted? How many qts of oil does a diesel take and what kind of oil is best? I have never worked on a diesel b efore. any help would be helpfull.
thanks wayne

I don't think Ford kept records of how many of each model of tractor they built. The 4000 rowcrop was a fairly short-lived model, though - only '66 to '68 if I remember right. It takes 7 quarts of oil with a filter change. Any oil rated for diesel engines should be OK. As far as what weight, it depends on your useage and climate. I run 15w40 year round here in n/w WI.

walnart usually has some good deals on 15w40 motorcraft oil for the PSD's.

5qt jugs.. etc. that's what my 5000's drinking right now..
