4020 hyd outlet

Was looking to build a 3point sprayer to put on my 4020. Was
told that a hydraulic ace pump would be a good option because I
would not have to run the engine very fast. Was considering
buying ace FMC-hyd-210. Does anyone have experience with this
pump just want to check before I buy

It has been my experiences not to use a hydraulic sprayer pump on older tractors, many times as the engine speed varies ,like on a hill, it will slow the pump out put down.

Should work as long as the SCV is not adjusted for use with a single hose application such as dump wagon cylinder.

Have run ace hydraulic driven pumps for almost 40 years. For small sprayer IIRC 204 is pump model. Adjust turtle valve for required pressure. On a 4020 to 4640 the pressure will stay dang near constant as engine rpm varies.

There are a couple 4440's running a hydraulic pump around my area, they seem to be doing okay,
but you can still get uneven pressure at times that may show up in your sprayer output..these older Gen hydraulics will only do about 16GPM on a good day.

Not sure on a 210 pump but a 204 takes an orifice on the intake side to limit the hydraulic flow. I run a 1760 planter vacuum fan with a late 4020 without any problems so I am speculating a sprayer pump wouldn't be a lot different in demand.
