4020 powershift shifter problem

My friend's 4020 PS sometimes has a shifter problem when changing gears. Shifter "locks" in one gear and cannot move shifter. Usually have to go thru a series of jerking, pulling and shoving on shifter to get it to free up. He's afraid of breaking shifter. Also sometimes will not move when shifting from park to 1st or 2nd. Again, this is intermittent....at other times it shifts normally. He has already replaced shift cable, but still has problem. Anyone have an idea as to whether this is internal problem or could it be in shifter quadrant. Thanks

I would look at the shift valve. i guess you can brake the leavers off the shift valve getting rough with the gear shift, keep looking you will find i am sure,
